Anthony Dwane Mackie (born September 23, 1978) is an American actor. He gained wide recognition for portraying Sam Wilson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and later starring as the titular character in Captain America: Brave New World (2025). Mackie made his film debut in 8 Mile (2002) and earned critical recognition for his roles in Brother to Brother (2004), which garnered him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor, and
