In 1977, he joined Kobayashi Production, where he studied under Shichirou Kobayashi. In 1982, he debuted as an art director on Tonde Mon Pe, and soon after that he left Kobayashi Production and took part in the founding of Studio Fuga with Hiromasa Ogura and Toshiharu Mizutani. Later became, and is the current representative director of the studio.
