Overview
The rapid economic growth of Hong Kong in the 60s leads to the growth of a lot of industrialists and investors – a legend from rags to riches overnight. The story depicts the venture of a village boy, KEI, who works with great zeal to improve his life. LIN and MAY are the two most influential characters in KEI's life. LIN, a good friend of KEI, comes from a wealthy family plays an important role in bringing KEI to great success Yet, they later turn to be enemies when the two men fall in love with the same girl, MAY. MAY meets KEI and LIN together in Macau. LIN adores her deeply yet she, on the contrary, is very impressed by KEI's courtesy and handsome look. This triangular love relation adds romance to the original plots making "Road to Success" a more human and appealing story......

Episode 1
As the eldest son in the family, KEI has to earn the living for the whole family after his father's death. Ile falls in love with RYAN, a girl his mother introduces to him and they get married soon. In a neat coincidence, he runs into LIN, a son from wealthy family, and they soon become very good friends. KEI makes up his mind to earn a better living in Hong Kong, and then leaves Lama Island. LIN suggests him to invest in taxi business and very soon, KEI becomes the owner of five taxis. His success is a result of his ambition and assiduity.
Episode 2
KEI's success in taxi business makes him better off and he brings for his family a new house and also supports his brother, YIU, to study abroad. Later, he decides to invest into real estate, and sells all his taxis but his inexperience and ignorant speculation bring him to poverty again. On great depression, LIN and KEI go to Macau where they make friends with KOO. KOO is a fickle-mooded person and getting along with him is difficult. His cousin MAY adore him very much but is always embarrassed by his indifference.
