A mysterious stranger arrives in New Bedford and expresses interest in Grace. Fat tries to prove to himself that he is no longer a little kid. Honey is unable to reopen her salon as Callie refuses to rent her the space.
Oh Happy Day
The situation with Grace causes stress for May. Grace and Van's thoughts turn to wedding plans. Honey's salon reopens, but she has trouble attracting business. Hub meets a young girl who needs help.
The Trick Cyclist
Members of the family struggle with how to take care of May while maintaining their own lives. Maisey worries that she will be shipped off as May is unable to look after her.

May's nurse arrives in New Bedford. A new girl enters Fat and Pritchard's class.

Reconciliation
A man who worked with Hub at the lumber mill takes up a temporary position at the mine. The Bell Award is to be presented in New Bedford, and Honey, as the mayor's wife, must make a speech introducing the recipient of the award. Toppy struggles to find entertainment for the awards ceremony.
