Overview
In the future, Earth's entire population is being wiped out by an unstoppable virus. Mankind's only hope for survival is to launch a spaceship stocked with clones in cryogenic freeze, which will return to a devastated planet and re-populate it. Prior to its arrival, however, its crew of 6 is awoken to face a threat to the ship. They must come to terms with the workings of the ship, the dangers faced by their ship, the realization that they are clones, and their ultimate destiny: to save their race.

Awakening
Six teenagers are awakened from hibernation to discover that they are aboard a spaceship with no knowledge of how they got there and that they are under attack by an alien spacecraft.
Lullaby
After becoming adjusted to life aboard Deepwater, the crew learns that they must go back into cryogenic hibernation to complete their maturation process.
Legacy
The chain of command on the Deepwater is threatened when Bren learns that he has been chosen to be in charge of the ship, instead of the civilian Reb.
Reflections
The crew encounters a ship exactly like the Deepwater---but piloted by an older Reb, who advises them to abandon their mission.
Plague
The deadly Pandora virus is released aboard the ship, immediately infecting the entire crew.

The ship encounters a spacecraft, apparently adrift, with only one occupant---a female child who has a profound effect on Yuna.

After encountering a huge object drifting in space, the ship is boarded by an alien being that demands to be given one of the crew.

A computer virus results in a malevolent being called the Mentor, who threatens to destroy nearly all of the gene samples in the Gene Bank.

The ship and crew face trouble when a metal-eating organism attaches itself to Deepwater.
