It's Okay to Not Be Okay

Psychiatric nurse Patrick cares for his handicapped older brother, Matthew, whose traumatic past has left him terrified of butterflies, shaping their difficult, unusual life. Patrick's world shifts when he meets Mia Hernandez, a famous children's book author and Matthew's favorite writer. However, behind Mia's image lies a dark past and a disturbing connection to Patrick himself.

Gemma seeks Mia's signature to secure approval for her father's care and treatment. Meanwhile, Patrick revisits the painful events following his mother's murder, including the incident that sparked Matthew's fear of butterflies. Despite his reluctance to see Mia again, Patrick sets aside his misgivings for the sake of his brother's happiness.

Mia invites Matmat to attend her book signing event, hoping that Patrick will take him there. At the event, Patrick lets Matmat fall in line by himself so he can avoid Mia. However, while waiting, Matmat gets in trouble after seeing a little girl wearing a dinosaur outfit. Patrick jumps in to defend his brother, while Mia has a word with the girl's distraught parents.

Patrick calms Mia down with the butterfly hug technique. An exchange about Patrick distancing himself from Mia makes him reflect on his past. After another PTSD episode of Matmat regarding the butterflies, Patrick and his brother return to Maravida, where the incident with their mother happened. He also takes a job at the OK Hospital, where Mia's father is currently confined.

After being impressed by Matthew's illustration skills during their first meeting, Anok advises Patrick to be patient with his brother. Inspired by a fairy tale, Mia goes to OK Hospital to see Patrick, only to face repeated rejections from the nurse aide. Meanwhile, Vincent is thrown into a panic upon learning that his favorite writer has returned to Maravida.

Mia finds an opportunity to get closer to Patrick as she starts teaching at OK Hospital. As he begins his therapy sessions with Anok, Matthew receives an unexpected job offer from the doctor. A new patient brings life to the party at OK Hospital, until his stay quickly stirs trouble for the hospital staff.

Mia takes Junjun out of the hospital and brings him to his father's campaign, where he reveals the painful truth about his family. His story triggers memories of Patrick's difficult childhood and his strained relationship with his mother, who pushed him to care for Matthew at a young age. Shaken by the parallels, Patrick comes to a realization and asks Mia to be part of it.

Mia runs into Matthew at the hospital and invites him to spend time together, hoping to lure Patrick. When Patrick shows up, he lashes out at Mia and scolds Matthew, scaring his brother away. Later, Mia is attacked by Samuel and leaves dejected, a sight that unsettles Patrick as he struggles to choose between making up with Matthew or going after her.

Patrick tries to make amends with Matthew after scolding him, but a clumsy lie infuriates Matthew. This results in the two of them sleeping separately, which benefits Patrick, who keeps mum about Mia staying overnight in their room. The next day, Gemma finds out about Mia's stay, and the ensuing confrontation alarms Li, Jason, and Matmat.

Mia convinces Matmat to not only be the illustrator for her new book but also to move in with her at the mansion. Despite Patrick's protests, Matmat insists that he wants to accept the offer. This decision causes a rift between the two brothers, which reminds Patrick of a troubling memory from their childhood, the day he saved his brother from drowning in a river.

Mia struggles to keep herself together after Elvie mistakes her for her daughter, causing her to lash out during her class. To make matters worse, memories of her turbulent past with her mother resurface. Unable to convince Mia to leave Maravida, Vincent tries to talk Patrick into moving out instead. Meanwhile, Patrick encounters a mysterious man who claims to have worked with his late mother.

As he repeatedly fails to convince Mia to leave Maravida, Vincent is relieved to learn that his writer can now work just fine from her home. Anok confides in Patrick about his concerns for Mia and suspends her class at OK Hospital. After receiving treatment, Elvie recalls her daughter's fate. Meanwhile, Patrick gives Mia a heartfelt gift following her crippling nightmare.

Mia decides to finally cut her mother out of her life. When Samuel appears to be haunted by a ghost from his past, Anok assigns Patrick to keep watch over another patient at the hospital. Later, Mia joins Patrick and Matthew on a trip down memory lane as they revisit one of their favorite childhood spots.

Vincent comes up with a way to get closer to Gemma. Matthew finds Satsat in Mia's possession and demands that she return the doll. Although Mia tries to keep her anger in check, Patrick comes home to find the two in the middle of a physical fight. Back at OK Hospital, Eden and Olivia vie for the nurse manager position and clash over who gets to be Samuel's primary caretaker.

Patrick gets suspended after the fight with Jerome. He accepts Mia's offer to run away, but his responsibilities to his brother Matmat prevent him from taking a longer vacation. Later, Patrick hears Dipong humming a familiar tune and learns that it is a favorite tune of Ingrid. Meanwhile, Mia gets into a meaningful conversation with Matmat.

Anok investigates who helped Kai escape the hospital. Patrick and Mia grow closer at the resort, giving Kai and Bella more time together before Kai returns to the facility. However, tensions quickly escalate between Matmat and his brother when the former recalls a traumatic incident from their childhood.

Conflicted by his growing feelings for Mia and guilt over lying to Matthew about their trip, Patrick sets boundaries with the author just days before her birthday. Back at their apartment, he attempts to make amends with his brother. Samuel suffers a breakdown after mistaking Zelda for his wife. He then warns Patrick about Mia, claiming his daughter would kill him if he does not kill her first.

Vincent throws a surprise birthday celebration for Mia. After failing to make amends with Matthew, a disappointed Mia goes home and receives an unexpected visit from a woman bearing a cake for the occasion. At the hospital, Patrick finds Pogi unconscious. Upon learning who is behind his colleague's attack, Patrick rushes to the Hernandezes' mansion, hoping he arrives in time.

Patrick recalls the night his mother died and the trauma it caused Matmat. When Mia realizes that Patrick cannot leave his brother's side, she tries to convince Matmat to return to the mansion. Meanwhile, tensions between Eden and Olivia heat up following Zelda's escape from the hospital. Matmat struggles to finish his mural at the hospital due to his fear of butterflies.

Matmat tries his best to be a big brother to Patrick during their meal trip together. Things almost turn sour for him when Mia shows up at the same restaurant. At the hospital, Anok, Eden, and Olivia interview Zelda about the incident during Mia's birthday. Her answers lead the doctor to believe that Ingrid may still be alive.

Matthew opens up to Patrick and Anok about the night his mother was murdered. He recounts the moments Patrick was away that led up to her death and reveals the origin of his fear of butterflies. Shaken, Patrick begins to suspect the killer may be tied to Mia's household and uncovers eerie similarities between their childhood and a story written by Mia's mother.

Mia gives Matthew a deadline for his character illustrations. At OK Hospital, Patrick overhears a conversation between Samuel and Eden, in which the patient confesses to horrific crimes. With Zelda's words echoing in his mind, Patrick reaches a disturbing conclusion. Meanwhile, Vincent receives good news. Later, someone secretly sneaks Samuel out of the hospital.

Mia confronts Patrick about her mother's possible involvement in his mother's murder. Patrick finally tells Mia what Matthew revealed about the killer-and that Ingrid may still be alive. Shaken by the truth, Mia orders Patrick to leave the mansion with his brother and pulls out of the book she and Matthew were creating together. Later, Patrick investigates who vandalized Matthew's hospital mural.

Using an unconscious but unharmed Matmat, Eden lures Patrick to the mansion where she reveals the twisted truth surrounding Tessie's death. Angered, Patrick chokes Eden, but is unable to kill her. Eden then injects him with a sedative just as Mia arrives to confront her. A struggle soon ensues, with both mother and daughter at the edge of the stairs.

After learning about her hallucinations, Vincent and Madeth try to force Mia to leave the house, but Patrick steps in.

Mia tells Patrick about her dream, while Gemma and Vincent cross paths at a karaoke bar. Later, Dr. Anok asks Patrick about his relationship with Mia.

After coming home drunk, Patrick gives Mia a gift with her nightmares. To find out more about Olivia, Eden suggests bonding over a drinking game.

Mia returns to the hospital, leading to run-ins with Elvie and her father. Eden finds a curious letter in Samuel's bed.

Mia makes a decision to change her look, but Matmat doesn't approve. Madeth finds out more about Gemma for a smitten Vincent.

Dr. Anok asks Patrick to keep a close eye on Zelda, a patient, after she begins acting strangely. Mia, Patrick and Matmat share a light moment together.
