Dazzling

Qing Ye originally planned to study abroad to honor her late mother's wish. Everything changed after her father was framed by a colleague and wrongfully drawn into an investigation. Entrusted by her father, Sun Hai took her from Beijing to Zhazhating, where she can lie low for a while at her aunt Li Lanfang's place.

Qing Ye begins her new life in Zhazhating at Xing Wu's house, but the adjustment is anything but easy. Xing Wu finds her unreasonable, unaware that everything here is a world apart from the life Qing Ye once had.

Having just arrived, Qing Ye is caught in a torrential downpour. At the hotel, she clashes with a gold-chain-wearing tough guy over excessive noise, until Xing Wu shows up just in time to intervene.

Xing Wu fixes Qing Ye's laptop. He looks into her drive to check for missing files. Seeing how glamorous Qing Ye's life used to be, he can't help but feel that they are from different worlds.

Xing Wu takes Qing Ye to Zhao Mazi's pre-wedding banquet. It is Qing Ye's first time to see the lively open-air banquet in Zhazhating. She experiences Zhazhating's local customs and culture and gradually adapts to life there.

Qing Ye leaves Zhazhating to go back to Beijing. Xing Wu and Qing Ye take a photo together, leaving behind one last warm memory.

Qing Ye proposes revitalizing Xuandao by using promotional strategies to attract younger customers and drafts a detailed business plan.

Qing Ye successfully persuades "Zhazhating's Three Beauties" to be models for the Xuandao's promotional photos. Li Lanfang gives everyone beautiful styling, while Xing Wu finds Quan Ya to be in charge of photography.

Qing Ye learns that Shu Han and Xing Wu have been business partners for many years and senses that Shu Han has feelings for Xing Wu. Li Lanfang also tries her best to bring Xing Wu and Shu Han together.

Meng Ruihang makes a special trip from Beijing to Zhazhating to find Qing Ye and even invites her to go abroad together a week later.

Meng Ruihang asks Xing Wu to persuade Qing Ye to go abroad and return to her original path in life. Qing Ye is disappointed but doesn't give a clear answer.

The Academic Director, impressed by Qing Ye's English skills, invites her to sign up to host the visiting foreign guests. Meanwhile, Xing Wu bumps into his former homeroom teacher, Mr. Zhu, who urges him to return to school or risk being expelled.

Qing Ye and Ye Yingjian go to the school to prepare for the English Corner. During the initial English assessment, they find that the students' English level are extremely poor. Qing Ye gets a flash of inspiration and starts researching innovative English teaching methods at home.

Qing Ye wants to persuade Xing Wu to return to school, but she is disappointed to learn that Xing Wu might give up returning to school and choose to work in the Electronics Street.

Xuandao plans to reopen, while Grandma has recovered and been discharged from the hospital. Qing Ye no longer tries to persuade Xing Wu to return to school, believing that no matter which path he chooses, he'll end up where he wants to be.

Qing Ye identifies the poster using their profile picture and locks in on Cao Fan. At school, she confronts Cao Fan and proposes a bet using their monthly exam scores. The loser would have to run 20 laps.

Xing Wu and Qing Ye go to school together. Shu Han is devastated to learn that Xing Wu is giving up his job to go back to school.

Shi Min plucks up the courage to tell her father that she's determined to continue her studies and study art. Qing Ye suggests that Shi Min take the arts-track exam, and Mr. Zhu also helps talk her father around.

Xing Wu tells Qing Ye that he's decided to try for college, wanting to see what it's like to be a good student. Qing Ye is both surprised and delighted.

Xing Wu and Cao Ping meet at the fishing wharf. Cao Ping says he can't let go of their past feud and swears to make Xing Wu and those around him suffer.

Qing Ye invites Cao Fan into their study group. Xing Wu joins in too, and they all buckle down to prepare for their final exams.

Xing Wu returns to the ruins of Xuandao, where Qing Ye comforts him with a hug. Sitting by the sea together, the two imagine the future and discuss how they might rebuild Xuandao.

Everyone hides the fact that the money is gone from Grandma. Li Lanfang, Xing Wu, and Qing Ye stack their hands together and promise to work hard, starting over from scratch.

Qing Ye and Xing Wu delete each other's contact information, promising to reunite as their best selves. Xing Wu vows to catch up to her, and the two bid each other a final farewell.

As the final push for the Gaokao begins, Xing Wu gazes wistfully at Qing Ye's empty seat. Outside of his studies, he helps restore Xuandao. He unexpectedly discovers that the Welwitschia is showing signs of new life and continues to care for it diligently.

Qing Ye tells her father that she's decided to stay and study business at Qingbei. Xing Wu often keeps vigil at his grandmother's grave. He even dreams of reuniting with Qing Ye, but it is only a dream.
