Overview
Helicopter Heroes is a British daytime television series, following the lifesaving work of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The first episode aired on 3 September 2007. In 2012–13 the team also produced a 10 part series called Helicopter Heroes Down Under, featuring the work of British medics working in Australia.

A teenage cyclist fights for life after a serious road accident near his home, and pilot Steve faces a tricky landing to rescue a camper who has fallen down a hillside.

The team turn childminders after a father overturns his car on a family day out, and a pigeon fancier insists his rescuers release his birds before he takes a flight to hospital.

A bride's wedding plans are wrecked when the minibus carrying the groom's stag party overturns on the motorway, and an angler fights for his life after experiencing a rare reaction to a wasp sting.

The team flies to the rescue of a teenage canoeist feared badly hurt after a white water accident, and a trapped farm worker texts for help after he is crushed by a giant hay bale.

A young worker fights for his life after being injured by a forklift truck. Meanwhile, a wartime re-enactment group suffers a casualty when one of its recruits is crushed by a field gun.

A good samaritan is trapped beneath the wheels of an articulated lorry after he stops to help out a fellow motorist, and a mountain biker has a heart attack on the highest peak in Derbyshire.
