Overview
Alton Brown goes in search of America's culinary roots and Caribbean flavors in Feasting on Waves. He starts his journey on St. Kitts (aka St. Christopher), named by and for Christopher Columbus on his second journey to the new world. Alton, like Christopher, is traveling North and West through the Leeward Islands and on to the British Virgin Islands. Alton maintains the spirit of Feasting on Asphalt and seeks out the most authentic and traditional foods of the regions and meets the people who created them. Restaurants are the most obvious targets but Feasting is about the unexpected, so Alton also ventures to find roadside stands, street vendors, farmer's markets, farms, spice houses and homes of local cooks who make specialties of the region.

Sugar on Isle One
Alton's Caribbean exploration begins on St. Kitts with a history lesson on the sweet stuff and some local Kittitian fare. After a couple of days of discovery on terra firma, AB sets sail on the "high" seas for some unplanned adventures.
Fungi with Foraging and Fish
Alton's island exploration continues with the discovery of new flavors and ingredients in both foods and drinks. Island hospitality is on tap serving up a traditional family feast.
Island Thyme
Alton sails on to discover "perfect" foods and home made wines made from unexpected ingredients. Sea life becomes the focus as the exploration moves below the surface.
Won Love
Traditional family recipes and a friendly church social are just a couple of the places AB finds the "best sauce" which turns out to be the main ingredient of all of his travels. The end of Alton's journey.
