Overview
In the future, the third energy revolution starts with the invention of the Shizuma Drive and humanity celebrates a new era of prosperity. But lurking is the Big Fire, a secret organization that wants world domination. The International Police combating this threat counting with Giant Robo, a giant robot controlled by just a couple: Daisaku Kusama.

The Black Attache Case

A ragtag group known as the "International Police Organization", formed by members across the globe, comes into the possession of an attache case which was owned by the corporation known as "Big Fire". Inside is an abnormal looking "Shizuma Drive", the main power source which is being widely used in this futuristic world. "Big Fire" is not at all pleased that this unique Shizuma Drive has gone missing, and decides to track it down, attacking the members of the IPO. However, the International Police Organization have a way of fighting back, and it comes in the form of a boy named Daisaku Kusama, who is able to control a robot known as Giant Robo.

One of the members of "Big Fire" is on the trail of the IPO, looking to retrieve the unique Shizuma Drive from them. Daisaku summons the help of Giant Robo to defend them. Meanwhile, a blackout happens all across the city, which causes any Shizuma-powered device to be deactivated.

The Anti-Shizuma sphere, being controlled by Big Fire, is headed on it's way to Shanghai, to destroy an oil refinery, which is considered the last source of energy on the planet. As a countermeasure, the IPO sets up antique electromagnetic cannons which are not powered by Shizuma drives, in order to stop the refinery from being destroyed. Meanwhile, the leader of the IPO order Giant Robo to be sealed away, much to the chagrin of Daisaku. Will he listen to those orders, or will he have Giant Robo lend a hand in the fight?
